What sort of fate has fallen upon me now? I demand to know, where am I and why have I been brought here?

Has the wars stopped? Has the chaos been quelled? Tis not Erion, I know that much, but I do not know why I am here. This is a kingdom of some kind. More or less, a village judging by the houses I see before me.

Where is my clothing? I never wore this type of dress before. I do hope I am in the company of friends and not foes…

...I suppose you must have many questions. This town, Mayfield, is a terrible place populated by smiling "drones", unaware that there is anything wrong and adamant in their ways. Those like us are stolen away from our worlds and made to live here under the eye of a corrupt ruler known only as the Mayor and his watchdog, the self-proclaimed lawman Grady.

Yet another tyrant who mistreats the power he holds. This surprises me not. Men seem incapable of wielding power unless it is for harmful means and this certainly counts as harmful.

A twisted sense of humor, I suppose. 'tis not so bad... The Fairy Queen, Mercedes, was assigned to my household as the "daughter", and I've managed to befriend both her and my false owners. Were it not for the occasional torments this town subjects us to, it would not be so bad a life.

The Fairy Queen is here? So even the fairies aren't immune to the deviousness of this realm. I do not understand the point of creating these mock families but I suppose the answer will come in due time.

Do not let this town's bright, cheerful nature deceive you. Roughly once a month, things... happen. Once, the food disappeared, leaving us to starve for a week. More recently, we fell prey to a deadly disease and were poisoned by the very men sent to save us. Those who die here awaken the next morning, completely unharmed...
